It is estimated that Caucasus glaciers may disappear around 2050, but field work conducted in 2021 at the Gergeti glacier (Kazbegi mount) by the team of Georgian and US collaborators warnes that these natural ice archives could be damaged sooner. Timing is crucial to urgently extract the glacial ice archives preserved in the Caucasus region.

The documentary tells about the problems caused by global warming and the melting of the ice sheet. Georgian scientist Levan Tielidze speaks in the film, who is researching the Denman Glacier in East Antarctica together with scientists from Monash University in Australia. It is worth noting that under the Denman Glacier is the world’s largest terrestrial canyon, and the intrusion of ocean water into it will lead to a significant change in the level of the world ocean.
